Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio gave the last update for Kevin Owens back in December 2018. In his report, Meltzer said that Owens was expected return in late February or early March. However, he did say that WWE may hold off on bringing KO back until closer to WrestleMania 35 in April.
Owens was slated to miss eight months after undergoing double knee surgery, which could have pushed his return to June.
KO’s last feud before being injured was teaming with Elias against Bobby Lashley and John Cena at the pay-per-view, Super Show-Down in Australia back on October 6.
The following Monday Night RAW saw Kevin Owens take on Bobby Lashley in one-on-one action where he would lose. After the match, Lashley would inflict more damage on Owens solidifying his heel turn and writing KO out of in-ring action and storylines to undergo his surgery.
The second season of WWE’s Mixed Match Challenge was marred by injuries including Owens’. He was partnered with Natalya, but she would find a new partner in Bobby Roode.
KO’s good friend Sami Zayn has also been out of action since June after undergoing double rotator cuff surgery. Zayn revealed in an interview with WWE.com that he injured one shoulder during a Live event against Jinder Mahal. His other should, which has nagged him for awhile, began to act up on him shortly after injuring his good shoulder.
There is no confirmed return window for Zayn, but he is expected to be back on WWE television sometime in 2019.
WrestleMania 35 is set to take place Sunday, April 7 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
