“A lot of the drums, the chants, all of these incredible new sounds mixed with some of the producers from America, we’ve kind of created our own genre and I feel like the soundtrack becomes visual in your mind. It’s a soundscape. It’s more than just the music because each song tells the story of the film.”

Beyoncé revealed the track list for the new Lion King-inspired album on Tuesday as well. Along with several Beyoncé songs, the LP features contributions from Kendrick Lamar, JAY-Z, Childish Gambino, 070 Shake, Tierra Whack, Pharrell and more. In addition, there’s a song with Blue Ivy, Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s daughter.

Aside from handling the new music, Beyoncé also lends her voice to Nala in the film. The character has a much more prominent role in the new CGI version than in the original animated version that debuted 25 years ago this summer.

The film enlisted many of Hollywood’s finest talents to voice the beloved characters many love, including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Keegan-Michael Key, James Earl Jones, Alfre Woodard, Billy Eichner and Donald Glover.
